S&W Wholesale Foods is Louisiana’s leading independent food service supplier and is on the Move. We are looking for a Buyer Assistant to join our team! This position exists to maintain accurate product information, provide analytical reporting, and assist buyers in day-to-day activities included but not limited to supplier ordering when necessary. 

What you’ll do:

  • Support Buyers with daily activities, including purchase order placement, pricing verification and order confirmations 

  • Preparing Reports and Data Analytics

  • New Item Setup

  • GTIN Database Monitoring

  • Evaluating Products and suppliers according to Key Business Criteria

  • Conduct Item Verification

  • Perform supplier ordering, as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

  • High-level proficiency in computer applications and systems including Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Excel skills: Handling lookups, filtering and basic logic.

  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal) and in an engaging manner with colleagues of various levels of experience and management.

  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills

Education and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of college experience or 1-2 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing or a related field.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Microsoft Excel: 2 years (Preferred)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Location and Schedule

  • On-site (Monday - Friday)

  • 9am - 5pm (1 hour lunch)
