Founded in 1978
Frank J. Spalitta and Richard Williams established S & W Wholesale Foods in 1978 in Hammond, LA. The original space included a warehouse, coolers, freezers, and office space totaling 5,000 square feet.
Our warehouses are in Hammond and Baton Rouge. Our original, expanded location has been servicing the food industry needs since 1978. In 2006, we purchased DiVincinti Brothers to increase our market presence across south Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. S & W currently services restaurants, and multi-unit franchises throughout southeast Louisiana and parts of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We have two locations. Our main warehouse is located in Hammond in its original location. After acquiring DiVincinti Brothers in 2006, we felt it was important to continue to have a location in Baton Rouge as well. Our service area spans throughout south Louisiana & the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
In 1985, Frank and Rosemary Spalitta’s son Paul, joined the company adding his expertise and determination to strengthen the company and broaden its market area. Due to rapid ensuing growth, S & W expanded its facilities seven times and now totals almost 100,000 square feet.
With over 850 locations, UniPro Foodservice, Inc. is the largest foodservice distribution cooperative in the United States. We provide nationwide access to exclusive purchasing opportunities with the country’s premier suppliers.
S & W currently services restaurants, convenience stores, bakeries, coffee houses, childcare centers, and multi-unit franchises. We are well equipped to facilitate your food service needs.
